There are many sources of the teachings, doctrine and dogma and the Catholic Church. The most relevant and approved is the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Fr. Mike Schmitz has developed 2 excellent online programs on the Church’s view of the Bible (Bible in a Year) and the Catechism (Catechism in a year). There are also many books of instruction on how to see the world through the lens of our faith and the Sacraments while society continues to devolve away from the Church’s teaching.

The Catholic Catechism: A Contemporary Catechism of the Teaching of the Catholic Church, Fr. John Hardon, Image Press, 1975.
This is an oldy but goody. Doesn’t read like a Catechism, more like a novel – not a reference book per se, but a clear exposition of the Catholic faith that has not changed since the apostles. Fr. Hardon was a luminary and this book was written at the time of great confusion and heterodoxy after Vatican II. Still one of the best and still available.

Ecclesia de Eucharistia (Encyclical Letter), Pope John Paul II, 2003
The Church draws her life from the Eucharist. This truth does not simply express a daily experience of faith, but recapitulates the heart of the mystery of the Church. She joyfully experiences the constant fulfilment of the promise: “Lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age” (Mt 28:20), but in the Holy Eucharist, through the changing of bread and wine into the body and blood of the Lord, she rejoices in this presence with unique intensity. Pope John Paul II’s encyclical delves deeply into the Eucharist as the Divine Sacrament continues to mark the passing of her days, filling them with confident hope.
